About Us

Our Beliefs

We believe

that there is one living God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, son and Holy Spirit; the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

We believe

that God sovereignly created all things out of nothing. He created man in His own image in a state of original righteousness, from which state man fell by voluntary revolt and consequently is guilty, inherently corrupt and subject to divine wrath.

We believe

in the grace and mercy of God, in that while we were yet sinners, He sent His Son to die on our behalf. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son, possesses all the divine excellencies, being co-substantial and co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. In His incarnation, He united to His divine nature a true human nature, and so continues to be both God and Man, in two distinct natures and one person, forever. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, exhibited His deity by manifold miracles, fulfilled the requirements of the law by his sinless life, suffered under Pontius Pilate, poured out His blood as a vicarious and propitiatory atonement for sin in satisfaction of divine justice, and on the third day was raised from the dead in the same body, now glorified. He ascended in heaven and now, seated at the right hand of God the Father, intercedes in glory for His redeemed.

We believe

that the Holy Spirit, eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son through the ministry of regeneration and sanctification, applies salvation enabling men to receive Christ as Savior, guides and comforts these children of God, directs and empowers the Church in fulfillment of the Great Commission, and convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.

We believe

that the Church, the body of Christ, consists of all those regenerated by the Spirit of God, living in mystical union and communion  both with Christ, the Head of the Body,

and with their fellow believers.

The Bible, the visible Church, and sacraments are used by God’s Spirit as the means of grace.

We believe

in final triumph of Righteousness when Christ by His return shall destroy Satan and works of wickedness, and will affect a new heaven and a new earth, and finally by His power cause the resurrection of the body, both of the redeemed and the lost; the lost given to everlasting punishment in hell, and the redeemed to live in everlasting happiness with Christ.

The teaching of The Morgan Church is based on our Core Values and the “Truths We Can use”.

Our Core Values are:

We try to preach a balance of our Core Values throughout the year and refer to them often in sermons and Bible studies.

Like other traditions (such as the creeds and catechisms)  that came before it, the “Truths We Can Use” boil down Biblical truth into memorable, faith-building segments.

God is Worthy of Worship: All things begin with God, and having a healthy understanding of who He is and how He is will always lead us to worship Him with our lives.

God Loves You: If God was an aloof, domineering, tyrant He might require worship, but few would want to worship Him. But the Truth that unlocks the human heart to worship Him is that He is love and loves us completely.

Because He loves us, He desires what is best for us--which is sometimes contrary to what we want for ourselves.

God Forgives Your Sin: Because He loves us, He gave Himself to forgive our sin.

God has a Plan for Your life: It is comforting to know that God is in control of the entire Universe! It is affirming to remember that He has our lives in control, too. When we encounter hard times, it prompts us to ask “What is God teaching me through this?” rather than “Has God forgotten me?”

God wants You to Grow: Christian growth comes in many ways. As Christians, we learn to put God first in our lives; we learn to trust Him more; we learn to live for Him; we learn to forgive others; we learn to be followers of Jesus.

God will Use You For His Glory:  As we grow as Christians, we discover the gifts God had placed in us to serve Him and to serve one another.

God is Always with You: God doesn’t promise us that everything will go perfectly in our lives, but He does promise that He will never leave us or forsake us and that he will complete the work He began in us!
